“It may be that when we no longer know what to do we have come to our real work, and that when we no longer know which way to go we have come to our real journey.” ~Wendell Berry
When we come to the end of what we no longer know. How many times have you been there friend? The image of being in this kind of place is of being in the wilderness. In the wilderness, I typically struggle and fight to understand what the answers are. Yet, like it or not, what I really have to do is accept the mystery, settle back into my breath, and allow some angels to wash me with kindness and love as I settle into a kind of unknowing.
This is the middle space as I’ve come to sense this time of my own life. Perhaps that’s why it can be so hard to “live in the moment.” The moment can be painful and confusing. Sometimes, the moment in this space of unknowing feels like there’s a dropped thread from the past that I need to go back, pick up, weave back into awareness and healing before I can…before I can what? It’s a mystery.
