There are so many lovely lessons and tidbits that the show Ted Lasso has given me, but over and again, it’s the lesson to forgive and to let go that is resoundingly loudest to my ears and heart. Lately, navigating my growing teens and the world at large, this is more true than ever.

So, when in my contemplative practice yesterday, I heard this question posed, “What do you remember?” and let this question circulate through me during the day, I realized how often my emotions are a reflection of some experience I’m remembering rather than one that’s currently happening, or how often I assume the next move someone will make based on their last. What do I remember? How does this information serve and hinder me? How does it hinder my relationships? Those questions are plucking at my heart, and how I treat both others and myself is certainly part of the answer.
